Thanksgiving is quickly approaching with just three days to finish your menu and shop. If you’re anything like me, desserts sometimes become an afterthought. As much as I love sweets, I spend most of my time and energy preparing our meal only to think of dessert when I’m done eating and looking for the perfect ending to a great meal.
I know cookies may not be the first thing you think of when you think of your Thanksgiving spread. Most of us wait all year to indulge in grandma’s Sweet Potato Pie or if you’re a member of the PSL cult you’ve been waiting for a slice of Pumpkin Pie.
Whatever your flavor, there’s no harm in keeping your dessert options open. Luckily for you I’m a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur and I’ve tested over a dozen recipes until I’ve found my tried and true.
But there’s a twist here. We’re still snacking on dozens of bite size candies from Halloween and it’s time to make the purge. That’s right…. If you’re thinking what I’m thinking, it’s time to get rid of all that candy and incorporate it into your Thanksgiving dessert table with these everything but the kitchen sink cookies.
Down below I’ve linked my all time favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes. And if you’ve sworn off going back to the grocery store, chances are, you have everything you need right in your pantry. And best part, there’s no chilling and waiting on your dough to cool with any of these recipes! Just dump in your Halloween chocolates that you’re ready to get rid of and you have Everything But the Kitchen Sink Chocolate Chip Cookies! Yum!
Chelsea’s Messy Apron // These secret ingredient Bakery Style Cookies are my absolute fav! They are soft and chewy with crisp edges. I’ve gotten more compliments on these then any other cookie recipe. But I have to let you in on a little secret. In addition to Chelsea’s secret ingredient I also throw in my own. Add in 2 tbs of dry milk and I guarantee these will be your favorite cookies.
Alton Browns Chocolate Chip Cookies // What happens when you mix science with baking? You get perfect crispy and chewy chocolate chip cookies. I love swapping out the chocolate chips for cranberries, walnuts and white chocolate. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed.
Pinch of Yum // Now I will admit, these are a new recipe in my cookie arsenal but it’s definitely here to stay. Lindsay’s recipe yields 12 of the most ooey gooey soft batch cookies. And just as a heads up, these cookies are delicate so be careful about loading them up with your Halloween candies. I added just a touch more flour to make sure they could handle all of that yummy chocolate.
So there you have it! These are my Everything But the Kitchen Sink Cookies using my tried and true favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes. Go ahead and make that candy purge. New Year’s resolutions are just around the corner so you won’t want any candy hanging around.
Happy Thanksgiving Loves!
Until next time,
