MINGLE AND JINGLE HOLIDAY SOIREE

Hey girl hey! I’m so excited to join a lovely group of ladies for the Mingle and Jingle Holiday Soiree. If you are coming over from Marsha of M. Jones Style, then welcome! After you finish here with a little table inspo, hop on over to Tamyra’s of Positively Southern to see what she has in store for the main course. I know it’s going to be yummy!

This year for the holidays, I really wanted to stick to traditional colors. Last year was gold everything and with gold means glitter literally everywhere. Here’s a quick look at the rest of my holiday decor:

As you can see it was all about the plaid this year. That was mainly due to the kids. I really wanted to keep things fun and a little less “glammy”. Speaking of the kids, I really kept them in mind when I put together this tablescape. I didn’t want to use china or real plates so I opted for acrylic plates that I found at Target for $2 each. I also kept it simple by adding a red charger and a matching napkin.

I’m all about creating memories. And for the place settings I wanted to make sure my guests are able to take home a keepsake to add to their collection of ornaments. Again, keeping the kids in mind, I chose shatter proof ornaments that I picked up at Target for $1. I then used a gold Sharpie to write all of my guests name. Lastly, I found garland at the Target dollar spot and created small wreaths that would hold the ornaments in place. Have you guys figured it out yet? Yup, my goal for this table was budget and kid friendly! AND most of my items were found at Target so you can recreate the look yourself!

Lastly, for the centerpiece, I used garland that I had at home along with candlesticks from the Magnolia line at Target. I picked this up on clearance during the fall. I also added shatter proof ornaments also found at Target for $5. The ornaments were scattered along the garland to add just a little sparkle.

I absolutely love how this turned out. And I’m even happier that I can feel comfortable with the kids sitting down with us at the table with no fear of breaking anything. I’m excited for the holidays! I hope you girls are inspired. Now head on over to Tamyra’s of Positively Southern for the next stop on the blog hop!

Nicole, I love your holiday table. The candle centerpiece is simple but so dynamic and I love that you went simple with acrylic plates. That’s one of my entertaining secret weapons. Your table is beautiful and will make for a special holiday meal with your family. Cheers!

Nicole, I needed these ideas for a worry free tablescape with a new grand baby! The Christmas ornaments are grand and your scribe is beautiful. I may have to use a stencil. Haha. Have a wonderful holiday with your lovely family.
