I knew that with my recent rebrand that I absolutely wanted to give you a home tour. This is a home décor blog, right? And what’s a home décor blog without home décor inspiration! Now, let me preface this by saying there are a ton of projects I feel deep down in my soul that need to be completed. A lot of people would say, “you’re crazy girl, it’s fine just the way it is!” Jerome is one of THOSE people. But I really think it’s the designer in me that sees it for all it could be.
While I haven’t had a chance to go through and photograph the entire house, here are a few that I have taken as well as a few listing photos.
The first floor of our home is what sold me. I’ve always wanted a two story foyer, open floor plan and white kitchen. As we walked through the front door and into the living room, I literally went check, check and check in my head! This home had EVERYTHING! If you’ve followed me from the beginning, you would know that I started this blog based on DIY projects but I quickly realized there weren’t many DIY projects that needed to be done unless I just wanted to.
If I had things my way, I would love to add some architectural interest to the walls, like two story board and batten in the living room. There’s tons of home décor inspiration for this on Pinterest that I get lost in. But as far as the living room goes, that would probably be about it for now. And maybe potentially a fireplace update.
The upstairs is I would make the most changes. I’ve seen tons of home décor inspiration that have me all googly eyed. The kid’s rooms are a top priority, however it’s the guest bedroom and the master sitting room that I can’t wait to get my hands on (more on my plans for those later). I would also like to update the bathrooms. They’re in pretty good shape now but I would love to give them some umph.
Here’s a few things I’d like to do around the house. Hopefully I can get the man on board. Otherwise, I’ll be sticking to painting projects and arts and crafts.
– Guestroom // Paint, hang new light fixture and new furniture
-Dining Room // Add a feature wall, paint and add a sideboard
-Jaden’s Room // DIY a new headboard
-Jaxon’s Room // Paint and add new furniture/decor
-Sitting Room // Paint, add light fixture, add electric fireplace and decor
So that’s it! I’m literally taking my time to get things done around here because I’m at a point where I’d like to purchase forever furniture. That just means taking my time and making well thought our purchases. Next week, I’ll be sharing my plans to tackle our guestroom and sharing some tips on how to choose the right paint colors.
Thanks for joining me on my home tour! I can’t wait to share all of the home décor ideas and home décor inspiration I have rolling around my head!
