One Room Challenge // Week Two

I can’t believe we’re already one whole week into the One Room Challenge. If you’re just joining me, last week I shared my vision for our guest room as a part of the ORC challenge. You can have a look at my plans here. Thank you for all the support and good wishes this past week! It’s been so much fun getting to meet some new friends and welcome you to my little corner of the internet.

This week I had one thing on my mind and that was painting! There are a few things that I absolutely can’t stand doing and painting is one of them. It’s really not so much the painting itself, it’s all the prep and clean up that goes into it.

On Saturday, Jerome was so super helpful and took the boys out, made dinner and put them to bed so I could get a jump on things. And in all of that time do you know I spent most of my day taping the walls. Ughhh! And the thought that I’ll have to go through and tape once more to paint the baseboards is enough to make me walk away. But I shall press on!

As the end of week one comes to a close, I did manage to finish up the first coat of paint which means the second coat should be a breeze.

My second goal for the week was to begin sourcing all of my items. The headboard was the motivation behind the entire design so it was first on my list to order. Check! So far I’ve managed to order the rug, nightstand, dresser, artwork and wallpaper for a little closet makeover I’m planning that I didn’t mention before.

Right now I’m feeling pretty good about how things are going. I’ll be waiting on my packages like a kid in a candy store. And in the mean time, finishing up this painting job.

Don’t forget to check in to see what all of the other ORC guest participants are up to this week and give them a good cheer! And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram. I’ll be sharing some gems and updates along the way!

Until next time,

Ooh, I love the color! I’m always so scared to go dark on the walls, but I love it so much. Great job!

Thank you Kelli! Somehow I missed your comment! Oh I was scared too but it literally was the best decision ever. I can’t tell you how warm and inviting it makes the room feel!

Oh boy Nicole, your room is going to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! I don’t blame you on the painting. Painting a room by yourself is a lot. I’m painting a pair of chest of drawers with my helper, and that’s plenty. Plus we hung wallpaper. Love all the progress you’ve made!! You’re room is going to rock the design world!! 🖤

Thank you Tammy! I’m so happy I decided on that chandelier. I planned it for another room but I think it fits perfectly here!
