Sharing nine affordable and stylish console tables you’ll love for your living room.
This week I’ve been finding myself wanting to spruce up corners of our home. Do you ever get the decorating bug? Since we’ve been homebound for almost a year now, its really pushed me into wanting to change up the scenery just a bit.
I turned my focus to our console table in our living room. I’ve begun reworking it to create a completely new look, which I’ll share with you next week, but today I thought it would be fun to share with you nine console tables I know you’ll love!
Here’s a look at our console table from this fall. It’s definitely time for a refresh!
Console tables are a great way to show off decorative and sentimental items, add additional lighting to a room or hold a place for storage in a stylish way.

There are several styles of console tables available and console tables serve different functions. For us, our console table serves as storage for manuals, additional lighting, and I typically keep a basket for blankets.
console tables with storage
Console tables with storage usually are made with drawers or shelves concealed by doors. This is a great way to hide away items you may need to access often but don’t want to keep on display. For parents, it’s also a sneaky way to hide away toys in decorative baskets.
While parsons tables don’t offer storage built into the table, you can still find ways to add in storage. A fun way to do so is by tucking tall storage baskets or storage ottomans underneath. Parsons tables have a modern silhouette where the legs are flush with the top of the table.
console tables with shelves
Console tables with shelves probably offer the most opportunity to add decor and really show off your design style. While this style isn’t my favorite, you can use the shelves for smaller storage opportunities. Shelves on these styles of tables can come with three or more shelves and sometimes smaller cubbies that are often offset.
How to Style a Console Table
Console tables should never be something to agonize over when styling. Think of it as a way to put your personal style on display. If you’re not too sure on just how to do that, you can follow these easy steps below:
- Center It // If your console is going against a wall, place large artwork, mirror or even a gallery wall above the center of the console.
- Create Balance // Place taller items on the ends of your table like table lamps, tall vases with greenery or even staggering tall frames.
- Add Dimension // Use storage boxes, baskets, or books to add dimension and varying height.
- Make it Personal // Fill in spaces with framed family photos or decorative accessories that show off your design style.
I hope you find these tips and fun console table finds helpful! I’ll be back next week with the reveal of my table makeover. It’s going to be so good!
Until next time!
