Christmas has and will always be my favorite time of year. I love everything from the lights, decoration, good food and the spirit of the season. This year I was so excited to join a fun blog tour for kid’s Christmas trees and decor. If you came over from Annie at DIY Decor Mom, then welcome! I hope you’ll get a chance to take a look at all of the fun kids Christmas ideas in the Holiday Home Tour Kid Edition.

I’ve never really focused specifically on the kids spaces for the holidays, however we do a family tree that’s usually a hodgepodge of special ornaments and things we’ve collected over the years. This year I planned to do a tree in the playroom, which I’ll be sharing in the next few weeks, but this blog hop gave me a chance to do something special in the boy’s rooms.
If you remember Jaden’s room from the Spring One Room Challenge, you remember we went with some pretty bold colors. We went from this:

To this:

I really wanted something playful and fun that would stand out from the dark blue walls. The boys and I headed to the At Home Store and Target to pick up some goodies to add some holiday cheer to their rooms.

Colorful Boy’s Room Christmas Decor

I knew I didn’t want to add a ton to Jaxon’s room because… well… toddler (I think that speaks for itself). We decided to place a small tree on his bookshelf and added colorful fairy lights with mini ornaments.
Simple Christmas Decor for Toddlers

While we browsed At Home store for a tree for Jaden’s room we stumbled on a small white tree that he loved. I will admit, my OCD went nuts because I envisioned a traditional green tree for his room. I wanted him to have something he loved and was proud of so I obliged and got the white tree.

At that point, I had to let go of the perfectionist in me and just let them have fun with their trees. We had a field day in the Target aisles because of all the bright and fun colored ornaments they had.
Another thing I wanted to add to his tree was a very quick and super easy DIY. I mean, I don’t even know if I can call it a DIY because it was that simple!
Easy Lego Ornaments

When we redid his room, I added a Lego wall which he and his brother love. I wanted to continue with the Lego them so I picked up a few clear craft ornaments.

Jaden and I had a little date night and filled the ornaments with Legos (color coordinated of course). Since I had ornaments left over and I didn’t want to overfill them, we filled them with craft pompoms (color coordinated again of course)!
We didn’t go overboard in his space, but I did add a small Christmas village to his dresser, which he loves Christmas villages. We found the cutest mini stockings which I hung from his shelves using 3M hooks.

All in all I’m so happy with how cheerful their rooms turned out for the season. They got to add the things they love and I got a chance to step outside of my box!

I hope you enjoyed these super simple but fun trees for my boys. Be sure to check all of the amazing bloggers along this tour!
Until next time!
I still can’t get over how genius the legos ornaments are. Plus you know I’m always in love with this bedroom. A very lucky kid lives here.
