Moving to Nashville, TN was a complete culture shock. The music I listened to was different. The people were different. The food was different. Even the sweet tea was different! I remember walking into a local restaurant for lunch. After paying for my food, I grabbed a cup to fill up with what I thought was fruit punch of some sort. It turns out I had discovered Fruit Tea. At first, my taste buds were a little confused. Is it fruit punch? Or was it sweet tea? And to be perfectly honest, I don’t think I was much of a fan until continuing to try it.
Fruit Tea is much like most recipes. Everyone puts their own twist on it. After trying many different versions from multiple local restaurants, I became a fan. I’ve ventured into trying to make it on my own and have realized that I like mine a little more on the fruity side with a hint of tea. While others I have tried have a stronger tea flavor.
Not long ago, I got the idea to take the Fruit Tea concoction up a notch. Why not create an adult version? So that’s what I did. Down below I’m sharing two versions of my Fruit Tea recipe! A spiked version for the adults and a non-alcoholic version!
